Learn the Drums without the need for a Drum Kit using Drum Lessons Online
Are you one of those people who beats out the drums on your steering wheel to every song on the radio? Do you feel that the most exciting and catchy part of almost any song is the drum track? If so, you probably want to be a drummer. The drums are often the driving force in most music and songs, they keep the beat rolling and the time consistent. If you want to learn how to play the drum you have several options ahead of you. One of the easiest, and more popular alternatives is online drum lessons.
Many people think that they must have a full drum kit before they start learning drums. For many this stops their dream as they don't have the money or the room for a drum kit in their current home. This road block doesn't have to stop you from starting on the path to your dreams, of course at some point you are going to need a drum kit, but it's not essential in the beginning. You don't have to have a full drum kit to start to learn the drum rudiments. A flat surface and a pair of drumsticks is a good place to start. You don't even need to have drumsticks, you can just use wooden spoons. If you sign up for online drum lessons then you will get other ideas.
You can also start to learn the drum rudiments on a drum pad. This is a small pad that has padded surfaces. A second great thing about practice pads is they are sound dampening so you can use them without disrupting others, and since they're small you can easily take them with you while travelling. When you start your online drum lessons you will learn more about drum pads.
Keeping a steady beat will be one of, if not the firs topic covered in most lessons. To keep time in songs you must be able to keep a consistent beat and time. A second piece of gear you can get even if you don't have a kit yet is a metronome, this will come in handy not just for the drums but just about every instrument, and will come in handy even as you improve and learn more styles of playing the drums.
So if you just can't help tapping out a beat on everything around you when listening to music unleash that drummer you have on the inside by taking online drum lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions...
What is the difference between a standard and fusion drum kit?
i would like to know to have an idea for a drum kit. i want to know what style of music they are best for and the sound.
Answer:
The difference is simple. On a 5-piece drumset with standard sizes, the high tom is 12", low tom is 13", and the floor tom is 16". On the same 5-piece drumset with fusion sizes, the high tom is 10", the low tom is 12", and the floor tom is 14". The standard sizes have a lower sound due to the larger heads, while the fusion sizes have a higher pitch. As far as what they are good for, that kind of depends on taste and playing style. Either type of sizes sounds good with most any kind of music. Fusion toms do sound good with jazz. Standards are pretty much universal. I have a 6-piece set that has fusion toms but, the second floor tom is 16", which allows me to have the high pitches of the 10 and 12" but also the low pitches of the 14 and 16". If you go with fusion, I recommend the 6-piece with the 16" floor tom.
