violin strings (loop end strings)?
i just got a new set of violin strings xD (wondertone) put them all on and my e string is a loop end and my tailpiece has buit in fine tuners and i cant get the strings in. I have a extra tailpiece with 1 fine tuner but ute brinkmann said "in 2 years come to me and i will put that tailpiece on" and this coming summer it will have been 2 years, so what should i do with a loop end string when it wont fit, should i waste more of my money to buy a new one or just get the tailpiece on early, or go 2 a local music shop to get a ball put on the string or what are my options
i have my old e which has a ball, so how do i take it out and put it on the new string

If you haven't tried to put the string on yet, exchange it.
Switch the ball to the new string. Work the loop of the old string open, take the ball out, and carefully push the loop of the new string until it's as close to a circle as possible. Then try to work the old ball in. It's a pain and quite honestly I'd rather just buy a new string because E strings are pretty cheap, but it's an option.
Get the new tailpiece put on. It's not a big job but not a job for an amateur. I'm sure he didn't mean exactly two years. Just be aware that if the new tailpiece has only one fine tuner you need to be able to tune the other strings from the pegs.
